Accessibility

Neighborhood

The house is 5 minutes from Eastsound and has unobstructed views of the straights and Mt Baker. The neighborhood is quiet, rural residential so this is NOT A PARTY house, it is incredibly important to me that any guests of the house are great neighbors so please observe the quiet hours and remember that there are others living near by. There is public access to the beach 200 yards down the lane, the neighbors to the left and right own the beach either side of the public access to the mean high water level so although you can walk along the beach, please be respectful and keep some distance from the waterfront home yards.

Guest Access

Guests will have access to the whole house and yard.

This place is great and exactly what it looks like. We're a family of 6 (with two very young children) and had plenty of room. The kids and the dog loved the yard and walking down to the beach. The communication with Nige was perfect. The view is fantastic - even when it's cloudy you can often still see Mt Baker. All the kitchen essentials were there and while the cookware showed some wear, it didn’t affect our experience at all. We happily made most meals there plus a birthday cake. The location is perfect. Eastsound is a cute little town that's 5 minutes way, and Moran State Park is about 15 minutes away, depending on where you go. No need to overthink this - if you like what you see in the pictures, this place is the way to go.

This place offers a wonderful view, a fenced back yard and can accommodate 10 people. It has the charm and character of an old house where you feel very comfortable both in your own bedroom and in the sitting and living room.

My friends and I had a wonderful stay. The house and property were beautiful and had plenty of space for our group. We’d love to return for another island weekend

Great little gem on orcas! Was quiet, large enough for our party and the views were great. Nigel was very responsive answering questions. Great mix of historic charm with updates

This is our second time staying at this house (previously under different management) and our second time staying in one of Nigel’s properties (on another island). The house is definitely rustic so not for those who want something fancy, but it’s an old charming farm house with lots of space. We stayed with our 4 children and there were enough rooms (plus one) for everyone. Although it’s 6 bedrooms, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend for multi family use because the house is quite small in square footage. The beds are super cozy and the air conditioning works really well. We had 2 hot days and were able to stay pretty comfy. The best thing about the house is definitely the location. It’s about a 90 second walk to an incredible rocky beach perfect for kayaking, and l a <10 minute drive into Eastsound. Really the most amazing location and such peaceful views of Mt Baker at sunrise and sunset! Nigel is a responsive, attentive and accommodating host - one of the best we’ve worked with.

Amazing weekend at Orcas, well stocked with kitchen supplies (including coffee), beautiful views. Kayaks were so fun to take out. Yard games were awesome. Firewood appreciated! Definitely appreciated the flexibility with check in and check out times. Air conditioning and heating great too.
